Choreographer
Mr. Blankenbuehler is a proud recipient of the 2018 Kennedy Centre Honours for his work on the musical Hamilton. He is a three-time Tony® Award-winner for his choreography in the Broadway productions of Bandstand, In the Heights and Hamilton, for which he also received London’s Olivier Award. The recent production of Bandstand (director/choreographer) also received the Drama Desk and Chita Rivera Award for Best Choreography. Other Broadway credits include Bring it On, 9 to 5, The People in the Picture, The Apple Tree, Annie and the recent revival of Cats. Upcoming theatre projects include the new musical Only Gold with British singer/songwriter Kate Nash and the musical Five Points. On television, Mr. Blankenbuehler’s work has been seen on the Emmy® Award-winning FX series Fosse/Verdon, and his choreography can be seen in the recent Universal Studio film of the musical Cats. Mr. Blankenbuehler is very proud to have recently premiered his first ballet entitled Remember Our Song, for the Tulsa Ballet company. Ron Chernow is the prize-winning, best-selling author of seven volumes and the recipient of the 2015 National Humanities Medal. His first book, The House of Morgan, won the National Book Award; Washington: A Life won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography; and Alexander Hamilton – the inspiration for the musical – won the George Washington Book Prize. He is one of only three living biographers to have received the Gold Medal in Biography of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. A past president of PEN America, Chernow has received eight honorary doctorates. He resides in Brooklyn, New York.

Resident Director
Dean Drieberg is a director and creative producer. He is Co-Artistic Director of Sondheim reparatory company Watch This for whom he co-directed Sunday In The Park With George with Sonya Suares, receiving two Green Room Award nominations for Best Direction and Multimedia Design. Recently, he directed a development of Michele Gould’s 107 (2021) and a reading of Harrison David Rivers’ This Bitter Earth (2020) for Antipodes Theatre Company. He also directed and designed bare The Musical (2018) and the Australian Premiere of Memphis The Musical (2019) for StageArt. Dean studied at WAAPA and VCA before performing in Hair (The Production Company), Eurobeat, A New Brain and Bat Boy. Dean has worked on over 20 national tours such as Madiba, Matador, The 39 Steps, Bombshells and Australia Day; playing at over 50 regional and capital city venues around Australia and New Zealand. Dean has produced numerous advertising campaigns and major events across Australia, Tokyo and New York. Dean is Vice President of the Green Room Awards Association, a member of MEAA’s Equity Diversity Committee and is an advocate for theatre that is inclusive of Indigenous, Bla(c)k and/or people of colour, artists with a disability and LGBTQIA+ artists.
Resident Dance Supervisor
Brendan Yeates has enjoyed an international career of performance-based work in music theatre, contemporary and commercial dance that spanned over ten years. The last seven trips around the sun have seen a calling to the other side of the footlights as a creative for commercial stage productions. Credits include: Associate Director West Side Story (Opera Australia, GWB Entertainment, BB Group), Associate Choreographer Love Never Dies (HoriPro Japan, Stage Entertainment Germany), Resident Choreographer Kinky Boots (Michael Cassel Group) and Resident Choreographer Matilda the Musical (Royal Shakespeare Company, Louise Withers and Associates). Brendan’s shapes have also been seen in Disco Wonderland: Dancing ’til Dawn (Release Creative), Katy Perry ICC T20 Women’s World Cup Opening (KOJO, Squared Division), So You Think You Can Dance (Southern Star Endemol) and What Not to Wear (TLC).

Laura Tipoki is a proud Māori, a mother and a highly sought-after musician and conductor. Laura was recently the Musical Director and Australian Music Supervisor for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock for the Australian and China Tours. Laura was Musical Director for Gordon Frost Organisation’s Australian Tour of The Wizard of Oz. For Gordon Frost Organisation and Opera Australia’s 60th Anniversary Production of My Fair Lady, Laura took over as Musical Director for the 2017 Sydney season and was Associate Musical Director for the Brisbane and Melbourne seasons. She was Musical Director for Cameron Mackintosh’s Les Misérables International Tour (Manila, Singapore) in 2016 and Associate for the Dubai season and throughout the Australian tour. Music theatre credits include Wicked (Melbourne, Singapore, Seoul, Auckland, Manila) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide) as Associate Musical Director, Musical Director for the Waitress Audition Tour, and Love Never Dies (Melbourne), Doctor Zhivago, Mary Poppins and Hairspray as keyboardist. For the Australasian tour of Chicago Laura played pianos/piano accordion, and was the Assistant Conductor (Melbourne, Perth, Singapore, Hong Kong). Laura was Musical Director and co-arranger for her sister Patrice Tipoki’s debut album A Musical Heart. Laura was keyboardist on the Love Never Dies DVD recorded and filmed during the Melbourne season in 2012. Laura is thrilled to be Music Director of Hamilton Australia and would love to dedicate this performance to her mother.

Richard’s technical theatre career commenced with Opera Australia in 1979, and was based at the Sydney Opera House for 11 years. Then he joined Cameron Mackintosh, spending 10 years as Mechanical Manager, then Technical Manager touring throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and South Africa. Launching Martin Production in 1999, the past 22 years has seen Richard as Technical Direction and Supervisor of major theatrical productions and arena events through the world’s major cities, over six continents, including the West End and Broadway. Lauren is currently the Casting Director for Come From Away (Junkyard Dog Productions/ Newtheatricals) and Hamilton (Michael Cassel Group). Previous credits include Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and Kinky Boots. Lauren’s theatrical casting career began at Sydney Theatre Company as the Casting Coordinator for Co-Artistic Directors Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton, later returning to the company as the Casting Director for Artistic Director Kip Williams until 2019. Lauren has also held Associate Producer and Production Administrator roles at Michael Cassel Group, having initially joined in 2013 to manage the casting process for Cameron Mackintosh’s Les Misérables.

Jude is thrilled to work again with the Michael Cassel Group premiering Hamilton in Australia. Her previous work for MCG includes Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (2017), Kinky Boots (2016), and the Australian and International Tours of Les Misérables (2013-2016). She is also the Australian Costume Associate on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child currently playing at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre. Previous other work includes Les Misérables (Cameron Mackintosh – Mexico City, São Paulo, Tokyo, Seoul) and the Australian tours of Billy Elliot (Louise Withers and Associates), Mamma Mia! (Louise Withers and Associates), Fawlty Towers Live (Louise Withers and Associates) and the 2015 Bell Shakespeare season.

Hugh Hamilton has been Associate Lighting Designer on Jagged Little Pill, Come From Away, Billy Elliot, Jersey Boys, The Rape of Lucretia (Sydney Chamber Opera), My Fair Lady (Opera Australia/Gordon Frost Organisation), Wicked, The King and I, The Addams Family Musical, Legally Blonde, Rock of Ages and Guys and Dolls. He also produced De La Guarda (1998), Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party (2000), Baz Luhrmann’s direction of Puccini’s La Bohème (2002), High Fidelity (2006), the 2009 Revival of West Side Story, The Last Ship (2014), The Cher Show (2018), and Derren Brown: Secret (2019). Jeffrey was executive producer of the NBC Drama Rise (2018) and HBO’s Coastal Elites (2020). He is a graduate of The University of Michigan.

Michael Cassel is the Australian producer of Hamilton, the producer of the first international tour of Disney’s The Lion King and producer of the forthcoming productions Mary Poppins and The Picture of Dorian Gray. He is Executive Producer of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in Melbourne and the forthcoming production of The Phantom of the Opera. Prior producer credits include Les Misérables, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Kinky Boots, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Singin’ in the Rain and The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Broadway and West End credits include Almost Famous, MJ: The Musical, and Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical. Michael began his professional career working with Australia’s legendary producer and celebrity manager, Harry M. Miller before joining Disney Theatrical Group, working with the company in both Australia and New York. Michael lives in Sydney with his wife Camille and their children Eveleigh and Vaughn.
